Tangkuban Perahu Mountain

Tangkuban Perahu Mountain altitude of 2084 meters above sea level, located in areas SUBANG district and is one of the favorite attractions in western Java, has a beautiful natural landscape with craters which stretched may be one main attraction for nature lovers of mountain tourists plus the cool air, a natural phenomenon that is difficult rejected for not visited.

According to folklore, the mountain "Tangkuban Perahu" created from a boat that got kicked out of anger of a young man named "Sangkuriang" who failed to marry a woman named "Dayang Sumbi" which is actually nothing but his own mother.

The short story is, once upon a time there was a king who loved to hunt. One day he went hunting in the woods in the company of his beloved dog named "Tumang". After a day of hunting, the king had also got his quarry, until he accidentally discovered a beautiful baby girl who later brought into court and admitted as a child. The princess eventually grow into a very beautiful woman until one day marry a handsome young man and gave birth to a boy who was given the name "Sangkuriang". Unfortunately his father died not long after he was born. Sangkuriang children who grow up to be agile and expert hunting like his grandfather. One day Sangkuriang promised his mother that he would bring to her mother deer liver. Sangkuriang then went hunting for a deer to be taken in the company of his grandfather's pet dog was also mother of the "Tumang". After all this time he searched for the deer, it can not find a deer on that day. Therefore already promised his mother so he dared to kill "Tumang" to take his heart instead of deer. In the end the mother knows that the heart has been eating it is the heart of the Tumang then flew into a rage the mother to his child and reflexively hitting her head with Dipper, so his head was bleeding and left a scar wounded. His mother then drove him from the Palace. After Sangkuriang left the palace, the mother felt very sorry for him away and pray to god so that he can be reunited with her son Sangkuriang. The god granted her by giving her the gift of youth and longevity so that she can have the opportunity to meet again with her son, "Sangkuriang". While Sangkuriang after being driven by her mother, went wandering to grow into a handsome young man and gallant. One day in his wanderings he accidentally returned to the palace of his mother. But Sangkuriang did not remember that the palace was the palace of kingdom where his mother lived. In the palace he met a beautiful girl and met so they both fell in love and intend to marry. Beautiful girl is none other than "Dayang Sumbi" mother. Dayang Sumbi initially did not know that the boy was her own son. Once, when she was stroking Sangkuriang head, she found a scar on his head wound exactly as she made to her son. And she then find a way for her marriage to Sangkuriang be canceled. To Sangkuriang she proposed to condition that she was willing to become his wife if Sangkuriang able to make her a very large boat and a lake where sailing boat before dawn. Sangkuriang stated capacity. Then the miracle Sangkuriang Demon assistance that has been conquered to help make a boat and a large lake. When the work Sangkuriang almost complete, Dayang Sumbi anxious and prayed to god to dawn so forthcoming Sangkuriang efforts can fail. Sangkuriang very upset with his failure, then he kicked the boat almost complete so that bounce and fall over, and now known as the Mount "Tangkuban Perahu" while the lake is made with the stem of the river "Citarum" eventually known as the Lake "Bandung".
