Candi Borobudur (Borobudur Temple)

Borobudur temple is located in Magelang, Central Java, about 40 km from Yogyakarta. Borobudur is a Buddhist temple that was built around 824 AD during the reign of King Samaratungga still in a lineage with Sailendra dynasty of Ancient Mataram Kingdom. And architects who were ordered by King Samaratungga to build the temple according to folklore named Gunadharma. About the meaning of the name of Borobudur, there are 2 versions of the story, according to the first version, means a mountain of Borobudur terraces (budhara), while according to another version says that Borobudur means monastery on the high place. After completed, Borobudur was being the center research and development of Buddhist religion. The followers of this religion, visit Borobudur Buddhist religious learning.
